"The important thing for a painter is to paint and nothing else, the most important thing is to look at the painting, to read the poetry and listen to the music, not in order to understand it or to know it but to feel something. Art is a method of opening up of areas of feelings rather than million illustration of an object, a picture should be a recreation of an event rather than an illustration of an object, but there is no tension in the pictures unless there is a struggle with the object."- Francis Bacon
A quote by Francis Bacon, which have very much affected how I understand art as a form of subject or area of study. I am very sure art is a very broad term but Bacon's viewpoint about it has been my guide throughout the artworks I produced. One of my heroes back then was also David Hockney who have basically pushed me towards trying different techniques of producing portraitures, the most crucial bit of producing pieces, experimentations. One of his books that have very much inspired me at that stage giving me a full frame understanding of drawing and painting was Secret knowledge: Rediscovering the lost techniques of the Old Masters (18 September 2006).
