Defining Art picked up from previous essay module Contemporary issues in BA Fine Art 2009: The Uncanny
It is impossible to define art as a single form as it is such a broad subject. It is anything that stems from a being’s imaginative side, a body of work that articulate feelings, signify certain emotions, as well as frames of works that show somewhat that would be impossible to be scientifically originated from a beaker or expressed through mathematical formulas. Art communicates on different levels and platforms and are endlessly open to a number of interpretations and representations. The fact that it is impossible to define art as a single form has given great opportunities to artists by exploiting this freedom to interpret how they see the world and communicate their thoughts and feelings.
